    52 PICKUP for MAY

    1ST WEEK: SPRING CLEAN
    • Daily Anticlutter Routine: Put dirty dishes in sink/dishwasher (1 minute).
    • Pickup Project: Wash windows (1-2 hours).
What can I say? First assemble some supplies including your favorite spray, paper towels, newspapers, or squeegee, and make those windows sparkle.
    • Quickie Cleanup in the Front Yard: Weed and pickup (15 minutes).
Scoop up twigs and debris left over from those winter storms. Pull out the most noticeable weeds that have suddenly sprouted.
    2ND WEEK: SPRING CLEAN
    • Daily Anticlutter Routine: Put dirty dishes in sink/dishwasher (1 minute).
    • Pickup Project: Set up deck/porch (1-2 hours).
Sweep the area, including the side of the house and underneath the roof overhang. Clean off the deck furniture and arrange it. Set out potted plants.
    • Quickie Cleanup in the Kitchen: Clean under the sink (15 minutes).
Remove all the items, sponge off the floor, toss out empty or old cleansers, and wash out the wastebasket. Return all the items and rearrange them so that you can easily reach them.
    3RD WEEK: SPRING CLEAN
    • Daily Anticlutter Routine: Put dirty dishes in sink/dishwasher (1 minute).
    • Pickup Project: Dust and polish (1 hour).
In each room, start at the top and dust the ceiling, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and pictures. Dust and wax furniture and decorative items such as lamps, vases, and bowls. Clean the leaves on artificial plants.
    • Quickie Cleanup in the Living Room/Family Room: Clean sofa/chairs (15 minutes).
Pull out the cushions. Use the vacuum attachment to suck up those bits of popcorn, chips, and dust balls. Go over the whole sofa and all the chairs to remove pet hair and dust.
    4TH WEEK: SPRING CLEAN
    • Daily Anticlutter Routine: Put dirty dishes in sink/dishwasher (1 minute).
    • Pickup Project: Vacuum and wash the carpets (2-3 hours)
Clean half of each room on the main floor. Pull everything out from one side of the room, spray and vac, or rent a machine to wash carpets. Clean the upstairs carpets and then vacuum or wash the other half of the main floor. Move upstairs furniture and finish the rest of the second floor.
    • Quickie Cleanup in the Bathroom: Tackle the toilets (15 minutes)
Grab your bucket with toilet bowl cleaner and cleanser spray, and a sponge and brush. Put on your rubber gloves and scrub every little nook and cranny.
